How will you get started in supporting Braver Angels mission? There are many possible flight paths, but the sequence below can help you get off the ground.

o Explore the Braver Angels website
o Participate in your Alliance’s monthly Zoom calls
o Register for the Depolarizing Within workshop
Share what you learn with those closest to you - your family and friends.
Speak up on behalf of depolarization when you see an opportunity that needs it.
Model the Braver Angels Way whenever and however you encounter someone with a view different from your own - not to change their point of view or your own, but to cultivate better mutual understanding and respect.

Become a member of Braver Angels
Register for at least one FREE BA workshop per month - online or in-person
o Start with a Red/Blue workshop
o Take part in a Living Room Conversation event
o Tune into or register to be part of a Braver Angels Debate
o Experience a BA Town Hall
Help out at a local BA public event, such as a fair or festival booth
Bring refreshments for an in-person BA presentation or workshop
Become a discussion monitor

Now you’re ready to flash some real color on the BA landscape.
Go through BA training to become certified as an Ambassador
o Give prepared talks at local organizations or houses of faith
o Lead Living Room Conversations in your neighborhood
o Give presentations at local schools and colleges
o Work with others on media publicity or newsletters
o Maintain our BA presence on social media and email campaigns
Serve as an online breakout group participant.
Prepare letters to the editor, event announcements, or newsletters about what Braver Angels is doing in our state to release yourself after being reviewed or in support of others’ work.

Go through BA training to become certified as an online or in-person event
o Organizer,
o Moderator,
o Zoom Event Manager (ZEM), or
o Debate Whip.
Initiate BA events and workshops or be on the support team for those produced by others.

o Join a team producing a BA Volunteers’ Retreat
o Help maintain our state’s BA website
o Co-host Washington’s bi-monthly Welcome Social
o Develop creative marketing of events and Braver Angels activities through website, email, and other social media
o Recruit and mentor volunteers
o Be a tech lead - be the wizard behind the screen for Zoom meetings
o There are even more possible volunteer roles - large, medium and small. Just ask about something you have in mind

Take a leadership position such as State or Regional Coordinator or being an active contributor to a national Braver Angels team for program development or technical management.
